Eric Ramey

10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Black Belt

Eric is a second-degree black belt under Eddie Bravo in the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu system. 

Eric began his jiu-jitsu journey at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York in 2004 before transitioning to 10th Planet HQ in 2009, where he has become known for his contributions in technique to the system, including: passing, defense and guard work. Eric is renowned in the 10th Planet community for his innovative leg-locking system, and has traveled the world to share his knowledge through seminars all around the US, UK and Europe.

Throughout his career, Eric has had the privilege of studying under many notable instructors, including his sensei Eddie Bravo, John Danaher and others. He has been involved in coaching athletes at the highest level of the sport in submission grappling and mixed martial arts. His students have competed and won in ADCC, IBJJF, EBI, CJJ, WNO, UFC, and other prestigious venues.

Eric’s passion for jiu-jitsu is driven by his desire to build a world-class room with practitioners from all walks of life, including doctors, lawyers, artists and more. A room where recreational practitioners can contend with talent at the highest level. Additionally, he is committed to developing a pro team of world champions and coaches who can make significant contributions to the sport.


Thien Luu-Nguyen

10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt

Thien Luu-Nguyen is a Brown Belt in 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu under Eric Ramey. 

Thien began his grappling journey in high school, where he quickly established himself as a skilled wrestler, earning multiple accolades, including 2x League championships, 2x CIF placer, and a 2x CIF Master’s qualifier.

In December of 2020, Thien began training in 10th planet jiu jitsu and reignited his passion for competition. However, after some months of training, he noticed that his progress had come to a halt. Seeking to improve his skills and knowledge, he ultimately found his way to the 10th Planet Thousand Oaks head instructor, Eric Ramey.

Under Eric’s guidance, Thien was able to break through his plateau and quickly moved up from winning local tournaments to competing and winning at some of the biggest BJJ cards and shows in the world, including F2W, Subversive, Submission Only Series, CJJ and Flo’s WNO shows.

Passionate and determined, Thien is constantly striving to improve his skills and knowledge in the art of jiujitsu. His love for the sport and dedication to his training have earned him a reputation as a skilled and formidable competitor on the mats.


Sam Richetts

10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Purple Belt

Sam is a purple belt in 10th planet jiu jitsu under Eric Ramey. 

Born and raised in Los Angeles, he began his martial arts journey at the age of 7 when he began taking Hapkido classes. Additionally, Sam has boxed as a hobby since he was 19. In 2017, Sam began his jiu jitsu training under Eric Ramey at 10th Planet Pasadena. 

Sam puts a strong emphasis on being as technical as possible in all he does and is always seeking to learn and apply the smallest concepts and details at the highest level to make his jiu jitsu the most effective possible.


Daniel Park

10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Purple Belt

Daniel is a Purple Belt in the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu system under Eric Ramey.

Born and raised in Californian, Daniel is a Korean American mixed martial artist, with a diverse background in martial arts including Taekwondo, Karate and Boxing.  

Ranked as the number one amateur fighter in the flyweight division, Daniel has quickly become a force to be reckoned with in the MMA world. Training out of Fight Science MMA, his expertise in both striking and grappling has earned him a reputation as a well-rounded fighter, capable of dominating his opponents both on the ground and on the feet.

Off the mat, Daniel enjoys staying active and pursuing his passion for fitness.
